Smooth Skin Shaving Tips for Women
If you were to ask any woman or teen girl about shaving, you would hear about how hard it is to achieve perfectly shaved legs and silky smooth skin. From dealing with sensitive areas such as the bikini line, underarms, ankle bones, heels, and knees without nary a nic or a patch of missed hair, we’re here to help with a few tips to help you achieve flawless, smooth, and silky skin every time:
1. Disposable razors
Having a good razor is key to achieving smooth legs. The more blades that the razor has, the closer the shave will be. Therefore, a razor that has four or five blades lasts longer and gives a better shave than those razors with just two-blades.
It is essential to prolong the life of your disposable razor by having it facing up so that it can dry and will not rust. The beauty of disposable razors is that when it starts to get old, rust, cut you, or does not provide that smooth shave like they once did, you can replace them. You should replace your disposable razor frequently, once about every two weeks or as soon as it starts getting dull.
2. Shaving position
If you have a hard time reaching or seeing those problem areas around the ankles, it would be a good idea to sit on a bench in your shower or on the edge of the tub. If neither option is available, place your foot on a stool or a small seat so that you can safely shave without falling over. The last option would be to lean over to see better if you can safely do so.
3. Shaving gels and creams
Having a good shaving gel or cream is key to achieving smooth legs. The reason being is that using a shave gel as opposed to using plain soap is that it allows the razor to easily glide over the skin without interruption while moisturizing the skin to avoid razor burn and reducing irritation. Choosing a shaving cream can be easy due to how readily available they are. Shaving creams come in different scents and are made for different skin types and sensitivities.
4. Shaving direction
Many women often overlook this tip. While fathers teach their sons to “shave against the grain,” depending on the direction and thickness of the facial hair; Women often need to shave in both directions. The reason being is that the hair on a woman’s legs does not grow in just one direction. For some, all the hair grows towards the shin bone. And for others, the hair grows in a multitude of directions on different parts of just one leg.
Look at the direction of the majority of the hair on your legs. Knowing this will inform you of the best way to shave. For some, it will be the simple ankle to knee and then from the knee to ankle. For others, it will be to shave in one direction and then from the shin bone back around to the back of the leg. Remember to moisturize after shaving for maximum smoothness.
